Introduction
Salesforce is committed to driving equality within and beyond our own four walls. We are on the way to cultivating a workplace that reflects our communities and where everyone feels valued, listened to and a sense of belonging. We believe there is still more work to be done, but here are some steps that we have taken so far. Explore the Salesforce Strategy for Promoting Workplace Equality
In Salesforce, we considered equality one of its four core values. Our values are our compass; We lead them in everything we do. Having equality as a core value underlines our commitment to all of our 30,000 employees. We continuously extend our equality message at events like World Tour and Dreamforce where we hosted Equity Summit. Explore the Salesforce Strategy for Promoting Workplace Equality
The journey we are on begins with transparency. Our diversity statistics are updated annually and are always available to you: salesforce.com/equality. We have made real progress in some areas and less in others. We work diligently to divide the board and increase representation. Explore the Salesforce Strategy for Promoting Workplace Equality
equal pay
A few years ago, two of our Salesforce leaders, Leyla Seka (EVP, AppExchange) and Cindy Robbins (Chief People Officer), came to our CEO, Mark Benioff, to tell them that they suspected men and women were not paid. Was being done uniformly. As Mark described in a 60-minute episode about equal pay, he did not believe it at first, but then empowered the leaders to search the data. Since then we have paid $ 8.7 million to adjust our employees’ salaries for pay equity. Business Value of Equality
equal rights
We give the right to equality for all by creating a workplace that is free from discrimination and by advocating equality for all communities where we live and work. As an example, in early 2015, Salesforce employees in Indiana launched a grassroots effort to fight the passage of legislation allowing discrimination against LGBT individuals. As a company, Salesforce raced behind employees who are showing support in many ways, including offering rehabilitation assistance to employees willing to take a public stand against the law and relocating. Salesforce CEO Mark Benioff and Salesforce Marketing Cloud CEO Scott McCorkle rapidly joined the effort and the state of Indiana eventually amended the law.
