Who is Bappi Lahari?

Bappi Lahari was born on the 20th of December, 1935 in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a farmer and his mother was a housewife.

He was the youngest of four children and he had two brothers and one sister. He spent his childhood playing by listening to songs sung by Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar and watching movies with his friends.

He completed his schooling at Kashi Vidya Peeth in Varanasi, India, where he also started singing for the first time. He then went to Lucknow University for higher studies where he learned music under Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan.
