Google’s answer to Apple’s AirTag is nearly here. The Google Pixel Tag, the company’s first Bluetooth item tracker, goes on sale on 11 November 2026. Google announced it in August alongside the Pixel 11 phones and the Pixel Watch 5.
Pixel Tag price and release date
- Release date: 11 November 2026 through the Google Store
- Price (US): $29 for one tag, $99 for a four-pack
- India: Rs 3,799 for one and Rs 12,900 for a four-pack, on sale in November
- Other countries: Google’s UK and US store pages say “Coming November 2026”, and Germany has no announced date yet
Key features
- Precision finding: the tag combines ultra-wideband (UWB) with Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding for more accurate location when you are close.
- Find Hub: it works with Google’s Find Hub network, which helps locate lost items using nearby Android devices.
- Durability and battery: it is IP67 water and dust resistant and uses a replaceable CR2032 coin battery.
- Colours: Fog and Splash.
Which phones does it work with?
The Pixel Tag works with any phone running Android 9 or later through Fast Pair. The most precise features, such as Channel Sounding, need a newer device running Android 16 or later. It is an Android-only accessory, so iPhone owners should stay with AirTag.
Pixel Tag vs AirTag
- Price: both start around $29, though Google’s four-pack is $99.
- Ecosystem: Pixel Tag is built for Android and Find Hub, while AirTag is built for iPhone and Find My.
- Precision: both offer UWB-based finding, but real-world tests will show which one is more reliable.
Should you buy one?
If you use Android and often lose keys, bags or wallets, the Pixel Tag is an easy low-cost add-on. If you have an iPhone, nothing changes. Wait for independent reviews, which should arrive around launch, before you buy a four-pack.
